Resisting Temptation

tim johnsonby Tim Johnson

You can stand firm and resist temptation when you know where you should stand. Temptation is the devils tactics used to draw us away from God. God does not tempt us. God will only test us on the things that He has taught us, giving us every opportunity to pass. But, before you can resist temptation you have to decide who your master is. If you have not decided that Jesus is your master it will be impossible to resist temptation. We will always be at the mercy of the devil until we make Jesus our Master. Is Jesus your Master? The key to overcoming temptation is to be able to stand firm and say with confidence that “Jesus is my Master”! This means we no longer bow down to what we feel, the opinions of others, and the whispers of the enemy that lead us away from God. We experience freedom and victory over temptation when we’re able to serve the devil notice that he is not our master.

  1. Very true. Without Christ we are hopeless in every way, but with Jesus being our Master and Lord, we can be free from the devil’s grip.
