The Game

Garry Sennaby Garry Senna

Eph 3:20 from the Message Bible says this – “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us”

The last few months of my life have deepened several truths about God into the fabric of who I am. The first being that God really wants us in “The Game” – The game being the life He invites us to share that has existed for all of eternity. That life is the shared life that exists between the Father the Son and The Holy Spirit. The incarnation is proof that He will go to all lengths to include us into that life. The game or the “Great Dance” as the church fathers have called it is where true life is lived and found. It is the place where our aloneness is gone and the adventure we call life really begins.

The second truth is that God really wants us to dream and dream big! Like the old game we used to play “I double dog dare you to so this or that” – God gently invites us to dream big dreams, living a life not alone in those dreams but shared in a relational context. Our dreams are Holy to God – our dreams are the most profound reflection of what is really going on inside of us.

A God given dream coupled with our desire to get into “The Game” = the greatest adventure we can experience.

  1. Indeed we need to dream big for all that God is going to do in our wildest dream. May we find the courage to do great mighty exploits for Him.
