Under Promise And Over Deliver

ross-middletonby Ross Middleton

One thing that drives me crazy is when I’m at the drive through that should just take a few minutes and instead it takes 15-20 minutes. Its over promising and under delivering.

There are few things worse than having things promised to you and then those things are never followed through. Promises that are not followed through will eventually become empty, they will not be believed. Its only a matter of time. You will lose your leadership equity you have with people.

On the other hand I always remember an experience at a business where I am under promised and over delivered. There is nothing better than a surprise of something being better than you thought it was going to be.

In your leadership, always promise less and deliver more.
