Promises!

tim-johnsonby Tim Johnson

We all know that promises are things people say they will do and they do it.  As a father, I really enjoy seeing my children smile, get excited, and show gratitude and appreciation when I keep my word.  Even though some promises take longer to fulfill than others, my children have learned how to trust me when I make a promise.

At times I do get reminded and held accountable because, after awhile, I can forget what I’ve promised.  But my children remind me because they know how much I love them and how I like to keep my word.

The Bible says in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.  Does he speak and then not act?  Does he promise and not fulfill?”  This over states the fact that if anybody should be trusted to keep their promises, it is God – who in no way is like us.  He never forgets.

His love is everlasting and unfailing.  His faithfulness reaches to the sky.  Through a relationship with Jesus Christ, we can become a child of God and experience the blessing of our heavenly Father keeping His promises.
